More than a magazine feature: Cherry Bobbins in Curve Rapport

When I founded Cherry Bobbins, I imagined that one day the brand would appear in a magazine. I hoped someone would recognise our mission: to create thoughtful, beautifully made, size-inclusive fashion designed for different body shapes.

After countless declines, unanswered emails and being overlooked by retailers, magazines and PR agencies, I began to understand how wide the gap in the fashion industry remained. Size-inclusive clothing was still treated as a separate category or an afterthought, rather than an essential part of fashion.

Those experiences never made me question whether I had chosen the right path. Instead, they reinforced why Cherry Bobbins needed to exist.

Creating size-inclusive fashion that deserves to be seen

When Curve Rapport invited Cherry Bobbins to appear in its anniversary issue, I knew I wanted to do more than simply showcase our clothing. Opportunities like this remain rare for independent, size-inclusive fashion brands, so I wanted to make a statement about who deserves to participate in and be celebrated by the fashion industry.

Alongside Cherry Bobbins ready-to-wear designs, I created two custom pieces specifically for the editorial. Too often custom pieces are reserved for smaller sample sizes, particularly AU sizes 6–8. Creating one-of-a-kind garments for different bodies felt like an extension of everything Cherry Bobbins represents: creativity, craftsmanship and exceptional design should never be limited by clothing size.

Inclusive design does not mean compromising on style. It means thoughtfully considering different proportions, body shapes and fit requirements from the beginning, so more women can experience clothing that feels as though it was genuinely designed for them.

Why size-inclusive representation matters

Seeing these pieces brought to life in Curve Rapport means far more to me than simply being featured in a magazine.

It represents every unanswered email, every moment Cherry Bobbins was overlooked and every time I chose to keep going. It also represents the women who deserve to see bodies like theirs presented beautifully, intentionally and confidently in fashion.

Representation matters because it reminds women that their bodies are not the problem. They should not have to change themselves to fit their clothes; clothing should be designed to fit them.

Size inclusivity is not just about extending a size chart. Its understanding that bodies are all different and designing for curves and a variety of proportions. It means testing garments across multiple sizes and body shapes while ensuring every design remains equally considered and beautiful.

A milestone for Cherry Bobbins and our community

This Curve Rapport feature belongs to everyone who has supported Cherry Bobbins by purchasing a piece, sharing a post, attending a runway or recommending the brand to someone else.

Every act of support has helped an independent, self-funded brand continue challenging an industry that has excluded too many bodies for too long.

Thank you to Curve Rapport for giving size-inclusive fashion a platform and allowing us to show what truly inclusive design can look like.
